I am not a computer.
— I do not seek perfection.

I am not an architect.
— my paintings cannot be replicated.

I do not paint concept.
— my paintings are evolutionary, they are experience.

I am an artist.
— my paintings come from my hands.

Mechanical perfection, pre-fabrication, mass production were once revolutionary and exciting. Today it is common, expected, even boring.

I pour and drip gallons upon gallons of paint, accreting layer upon layer on stretched canvas. The interaction of paint, gravity and chemistry can yield unexpected results. Those unexpected results, those irreplicable instances, those mutations, are the heart of my paintings. With those mutations my paintings evolve into something more than can be planned. As each layer reacts with the mutations below, it evolves and presents its own opportunity for the unexpected.

My paintings reflect the process of life — planned but not predestined. They evolve in iterations. My paintings are experience not concept.
