Jason Lockyer Portfolio Artist Statement Online Information everyday is a dream when your alone, 2009 Acrylic on canvas, 24x24" Billy wasn't sure it took that long, but soon felt uncomfortable, 2009 Graphite on paper, 8x8" Jason Lockyer's work is an investigation into the human condition. Jason explores these themes by creating an environment, or stage where ordinary elements can become extraordinary. Jason achieves this by creating moving collages that explore this contrived environment. It is his aim to isolate mundane moments of time and magnify their importance by using insects, birds, and elements of the landscape as his visual language. A large source of inspiration found in Jason's work comes from growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia where he and his father (a scientific illustrator) shared a passion for nature and the arts. jasonlockyer.com
