Lisa Occhipinti
Portfolio Artist Statement Online Information ![]() Vertabook ![]() Re-Circulation ![]() Buoyant Sea Lisa Occhipinti is a mixed media painter, book artist and author. Her work is in private and corporate collections worldwide. She creates multi-layered paintings and distinct book-art objects, that at Ūrst appear simple, but upon closer observation are laden with visual information. Transforming things rather than always creating anew, Lisa constructs her works so that they lend their own histories. Though her work is personal and enigmatic, it speaks in a universal language luring the viewer with quiet familiarities and a sensual earth-toned palette. Lisa is the author of "The Repurposed Library", a book of 33 book art projects published by STC/Abrams. Her work has also been included in "Papercraft" (Gestalten).
Lisa has taught at the NH Institute of Art where she coordinated and taught their first summer abroad program at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughn, Ireland. She has also taught at the Currier Art Center at the Currier Museum of Art. She has won a full fellowship from the Clowes Fund for a residency at the Vermont Studio Center, and won a residency at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild. |
