LAAA is proud to feature James Peterson at the 2012 LA Art Show and Olga Ponomarenko at the 2012 LA Fine Arts Show. Both the LA Art Show and the LA Fine Arts Show will run from January 18 to January 22, 2012, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, West Hall.

James Peterson's ambitious Hypoxia sculptural installation is a flowing form designed in the likeness of algae blooms. This 'organism' washes over the space and redefines the momentum of traffic. Hypoxia is constructed with many standard 24"x24" box fans adorned with feather-boas which are wired with sensors, causing it to appear dormant only to be activated by human approach.



Olga Ponomarenko's celebrated portraits feature contemporary subjects formally rendered to suggest another time and place.
