Familiarity is the key for my art. I like to think people recognize my work from images they might have already seen in our visual environment. I like to talk to people about my work and listen to their stories about where and when they might have seen parts of my work before. Within their stories lie a shared public history sort of like where were you when you first heard about 9/11.
I think I'm also reporting on the visual history of the internet. I use many internet images as models for my compositions. My compositions are done first on a computer then projected onto a surface, drawn and then handpainted.
