I constantly experiment to find the balance between "Hard-Edge" abstraction and the wildness of paint flowing free. The intriguing nature of hard and soft combined together, satisfies my desire for balance in my life and art.
Working with alcohol inks, I have discovered that they are truly a medium of freedom. Trying to control alcohol ink is akin to taming a wild horse - you don't want to subdue its personality, but you do want to reveal its possibilities. I also enjoy the tactile pleasure of collage; which provides me with both space and freedom to expand my understanding of how I choose to present my art.
Lastly, having studied the works of the "Hard-Edge" painters and Agnes Martin; I continue to find focus from their explorations of precision and clarity. .
