Christine Kline's interest in art historiography has led to Fragments, an ambitious series of collage pieces. By thinking in terms of the interdisciplinary, Kline discovers that simple and often unexpected combinations of ideas have the potential to materialize as extraordinary forms. She pursues the study of the "irrelevant" which is often considered steadfast, choosing rather to focus on the collective and interconnectedness of many disciplines including fine art, history and philosophy. Kline is particularly absorbed in the ever-expanding conversations carried forth by the legions of thinkers who have come before us, and those presently among us. Intensely engaged in these ideas and how they evolve in the work, she aspires to offer others a singular perception of the world that might encourage reflection on interpretations or perspectives that otherwise might not have been considered.
