Jason Lockyer’s work is an investigation into the grotesque and elegant aspects of our natural world. Jason explores this theme by isolating mundane moments and magnifying their importance by using insects, flowers, and elements of the landscape as his visual language. A large source of inspiration for Jason’s work comes from growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia where he and his father (a scientific illustrator) shared a passion for nature and the arts. Jason works in a variety of mediums including: painting, drawing, video, and installation. Jason Lockyer is an artist from Philadelphia currently living and working in Los Angeles. Jason graduated from the Tyler School of Art with a BFA in Painting.
