LAAA will present two solo exhibitions by artists June Kim and Eve Chayes Lyman. All shows will open on Saturday, February 11 at Gallery 825 and run through March 10, 2017.
June Kim new installation Intersection is composed of different sculptural components. Each sculpture creates its own abstract shape and complete one surreal drawing installation. The surreal drawing is fabricated with red thread in three-dimensional space. The red thread materials represent an invisible human connection, which is inspired by an ancient Asian belief of destiny in human relationship. Kim's visualization of red thread drawing is a imagined shape of Intersection in human social circles. Intersection installation is Kim's journey of exploring and building an invisible human connection to the world.
