Artist Statement
Investigating and researching the neurological dance of chemicals and electricity that informs human behavior is part of my creative process. Pairing the emotional with the neurological weaves a tangled system of compositional possibilities. My work uses line in a variety of ways; to suggest control, or lack of, as well as dynamic tension and intricate release of the mechanisms underlying consciousness. Color refines emotion, mood, and perception. Experimentation with automatism provides a narrative for the most powerful and mysterious human organ, and gives form to the unseeable synaptic happenings of the mind..
