Strengthen your professional development and knowledge of today's art world with an immersive 1 day artist-centric program focused on the practical needs of artists from LAAA, the organization committed to the needs of artists. 

On Sunday, March 4, 2018 we focus on the basics of an artist's professional practices.  This day-long workshop will begin with an in-depth discussion of effective artist statements, bios, CVs, resumes and websites. Then we will demystify the often difficult task of professionally photographing your artwork and end the day with a robust and instructive Gallery Roundtable panel.

When: Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9 am - 5 pm

Strengthen your professional development and knowledge of today's art world with an immersive 1 day artist-centric program focused on the practical needs of artists from LAAA, the organization committed to the needs of artists. 

On Saturday, May 20, 2017 we focus on the artist's professional practices. Beyond your everyday practice, there are essentials to creating and presenting your most successful self as an artist: a successful artist professional package, workflow, archiving, making a network, finding space and commissions all are a part of this. This all-day workshop will demystify the differences between artist statements, statements of work, bios, CVs, resumes and the elevator speech. Then we will discuss resources and out-of-studio practices. Participants are asked to consider their own portfolio and the visibility of their art practice outside of the studio, both in physical material and digital options. Please bring 3-8 digital or print work samples; laptop/tablet or pen and paper.
