Artist Statement

For decades, my art has been a manifestation of a changing repertoire of techniques, primarily focused on photography, alternative photo processes, collage, and found objects, while fluctuating thematically between explorations of popular cultural icons and political themes. This series explores the world of plants, motivated by myneed to escape the present dystopian themes facing us

front and center. In other words, my internal dialogue of anguish vacillates between visual depictions of current events and escapist pursuits of beauty. I find peace in nature, which drives my imagery, colors, textures, shapes, shadows, and forms. In a nutshell, my artistic pursuits sustain me in what I consider a perilous world.
