Artist Statement
My work centers on intimate, everyday moments—figures absorbed in their own interior worlds, where subtle shifts in posture, attention, and distance reveal how relationships change over time. I paint people closest to me because proximity allows for sustained observation and repetition, making small emotional shifts visible. Rather than illustrating specific narratives, I focus on restraint and quiet tension, creating paintings that hold presence through stillness and what is withheld, where memory, identity, and connection emerge gradually.
