Meghan Hedley, a California native living in Oregon, comments on the full spectrum of aliveness and is influenced by her lifelong research into healing. Her process is a celebration and a contemplation. As she is informed by colors and rhythms within nature, her work may be experienced as abstract landscape. She is influenced by Celtic thought, continental philosophy, and her current pursuit of a Masters in Chinese Medicine, where she parallels and connects the cycles of nature to the human body-mind. She attends to the intuitive and formal language of color and markmaking, utilizing letter, number, and color, building a visual language and a meditative art practice that intersects art and healing. She works on large surfaces to actively engage and integrate the physical with the mental-emotional space. Her paintings, drawings, and installations, motivated by these passions, inquire into what it means to build a life.
