Artist Statement

My practice spans painting and sculpture, centering the human figure as a framework for psychological and symbolic inquiry. Through restrained figuration and material sensitivity, I explore vulnerability, transformation, and states of introspection. My paintings position figures in suspended, contemplative conditions that resist fixed narrative and open toward ambiguity and layered reading. My training in sculpture—particularly bronze and medal work—continues to inform my understanding of form, materiality, and spatial presence, contributing to the dimensional logic of my painted surfaces. Across media, my work is grounded in process and material engagement, where experimentation and the physical act of making generate meaning. I aim to construct quiet, charged spaces in which image and viewer enter a sustained perceptual and reflective exchange.
