Artist Statement
Julie Hubert is an American painter. Julie was born in Los Angeles, California and she continues to live and work in Los Angeles. Julie has always engaged in making art since the time she can remember and through the years she has continued studies at Art Center College of Design, Otis College of Art and Design and UCLA.
Expressive brushstrokes of color at a glance appear to be a simple, raw expressionistic style of painting, but with further exploration, the viewer gets pulled into another world filled with emotion and dual realities. Julie's use of color, texture, form and subject matter in her oil paintings evoke an emotional connection-personal, yet universal.
