Life imitates art and art imitates art in Lisa Baldwin's exhibit Pictures of the Floating World, a series of paintings that explore themes of self vs nature. Parallels are drawn between 19th century Japanese woodblock prints, (ukiyo-e), for the masses and our selfie fetish of today. Lisa places nature over self both literally and metaphorically with appropriations of iconic landscape paintings set in front of the world famous social media destination Paul Smith's Pink Wall. When everyone is famous who is famous? And where does the natural world reside between the virtual and the real? These paintings challenge the viewer to contemplate the untamed beauty of the natural world contrasted by today's attention deficit society. CLICK HERE TO VIEW AND PURCHASE ARTWORK FROM LISA BALDWIN

Aazam Irilian’s exhibit Preserved Memories is an installation project in honor of her husband and all those suffering from Alzheimer’s dementia. Preserved Memories is comprised of drawings, assemblage sculptures, family photographs and recorded stories of shared experiences. Preserved Memories includes drawings of stylized figures filled with brain cells drawn on panels of Pelon fabric to represent the inner changes that the individual goes through and altered photographs of family members signify the individual that is fading away from our lives. Sculptural assemblages made from personal and meaningful belongings tell the stories of the family member who has lost their memory. Recorded stories told by loved ones share treasured memories to be held dear for the rest of their lives. Visitors are welcome to share new stories in writing that will become part of future exhibitions.  CLICK HERE TO VIEW AN INSTALLATION PREVIEW BY AAZAM IRILIAN

Emily Wallerstein’s solo show Highways and Intersections delves into the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles through the lens of its highways and intersections. These physical structures not only form the framework of our city but also serve as powerful metaphors for the journey of life itself. On a literal level, each painting captures the unique character and energy of a specific intersection or highway in Los Angeles. Through intricate brushstrokes, textured palette knife application, vivid and subdued colors, Wallerstein aim to transport viewers to these familiar yet ever-changing landscapes. However, beyond their physical presence, these highways and intersections symbolize the diverse experiences and emotions we encounter in life. Just as we navigate through lanes and make turns at intersections, our lives are marked by moments of decision, direction, and discovery. CLICK HERE TO VIEW AND PURCHASE ARTWORK FROM EMILY WALLERSTEIN
